Many people are unsure where to start when they feel that their lives have become too sedentary and they would like to become more active. Moving is good for us and we can show you how. Get active with Edinburgh Leisure - we have many options to get you started and offer something for everyone through a range of programmes for all age groups.  We also deliver a range of health programmes to get active, stay active and achieve more.

We were all born to move and there is a lot going on at Edinburgh Leisure to help you do just that.  Why not try low intensity fitness classes, swimming, dance, walking, cycling and even gardening.

We are here to support you and offer advice on the right type of activity and to find something that you will enjoy taking part in.

The opportunities below are ideal for those who feel it has been a long time since they were last active and are looking for a gentle start to help improve their health.  We provide you with a chance to build physical confidence and offer you support to be more active to improve your well being, in a fun and sociable environment

Physical activity has sometimes been described as a magic pill - not only does it help us feel better and function better, it can prevent and treat the leading health challenges of our time such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancers and mental health. Evidence suggests that we need expert guidance when faced with the idea of exercising after the diagnosis of a particular condition - even when we know that exercise will help.

We offer community-based physical activity programmes in partnership with NHS Lothian designed to improve health and wellbeing.
