What's on at EICA:Ratho

We are delighted to be hosting the British Lead, Speed and Para Climbing Championships at EICA on 7th and 8th September 2024. However, please note that some of our regular activities will be impacted in preparation for this event:

  • From Mon 2nd Sept: Stripping and resetting of holds for the competition.
  • Mon 2nd - Sun 8th Sept: Old Comp and New Comp (aka the Hanger) walls closed.
  • Fri 6th Sept: Speed wall closed.
  • Sun 8th Sept: Boulder room closed for finals isolation.
Clip 'n Climb, Birthday Parties, Coaching Programme, Soft Play, Café and Gym will be open as normal.

Works on the upgrade of the bouldering facilities at Edinburgh Leisure’s flagship climbing arena at Ratho will begin on Monday 3rd June following a major funding investment from sportscotland’s Sport Facilities Fund. The next block will run for 4 weeks, beginning on Friday 6th September. 

NICAS Clip Foundation at 16.00-17.30 and NICAS Clip Advanced from 17.30-19.00; this will challenge children on the 19 elements as they work through the NICAS accreditation and begin their coaching journey at the EICA.

Vinyasa Yoga Class for Climbers

Our Vinyasa Yoga class is by our amazing climbing instructor Ali and is designed to specifically improve your climbing ability.

Ali took up yoga during lockdown to stay active and when she returned to EICA Ratho she noticed a clear improvement in her climbing. She's now excited to share her know-how with you!

The IRATA Training and Certification Scheme is a globally recognised rope access competence framework. It is a key qualification for staff working in onshore and offshore industry sectors including Oil and Gas, Renewables, Construction, NDT inspection, Maintenance and many more. Open up a world of new opportunities by booking your space on an IRATA course at EICA, where our experienced and friendly Instructors will 'show you the ropes' and help you get a 'step up the ladder'.

EICA Ratho is a trainer member of IRATA International, the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association. Our certified IRATA Instructors provide training and certification for IRATA technicians at Levels 1, 2 and 3 following the syllabus of the Training and Assessment Certification Scheme (TACS)

EICA is delighted to host the Paraclimbing Club that runs every Thursday from 7 – 9pm. The clubs aim to facilitate and help people with disabilities to get involved in climbing.
