Edinburgh's Newest Bouldering Walls NOW OPEN!
The wait is finally over - Edinburgh's newest Olympic-standard bouldering walls have launched at Edinburgh International Climbing Arena!
Get ready to chalk up and test your skills on our freshest set of problems. And we've called in the big guns for this one: Percy Bishton, Head of the IFSC Route Setting Commission and Tokyo 2020 Chief Route Setter, and Max Ayrton another IFSC route setter and GB Climbing's Head of Route Setting. These two experts have helped our route-setting crew to create some truly great challenges, so come along and see what they've crafted!

The competition kicks off on Sat 7th December, and final entries close on Sun 22nd December.
Here's how to enter:
- Grab a score card at the Arena Hut.
- Tackle 10 marked boulder problems ranging in grade from V1 to V10 and log your score.
- Drop off your score card at the Arena Hut to enter the prize draw.
After the 22nd, Edinburgh Leisure will randomly draw one lucky winner from all valid entries who'll win a free year of climbing at EICA! Terms & conditions apply (see via the below link).
But really, it’s all about getting involved and having fun! Remember, safety comes first—so ensure you’re skilled and confident enough before tackling these routes. The scores are for personal satisfaction, and every fully completed entry will be considered, regardless of the score.

Bouldering upgrade starts at EICA:Ratho after sportscotland investment

Vinyasa Yoga Class for Climbers
Our Vinyasa Yoga class is by our amazing climbing instructor Ali and is designed to specifically improve your climbing ability.
Ali took up yoga during lockdown to stay active and when she returned to EICA Ratho she noticed a clear improvement in her climbing. She's now excited to share her know-how with you!

Upcoming IRATA Courses 2025
The IRATA Training and Certification Scheme is a globally recognised rope access competence framework. It is a key qualification for staff working in onshore and offshore industry sectors including Oil and Gas, Renewables, Construction, NDT inspection, Maintenance and many more. Open up a world of new opportunities by booking your space on an IRATA course at EICA, where our experienced and friendly Instructors will 'show you the ropes' and help you get a 'step up the ladder'.
EICA Ratho is a trainer member of IRATA International, the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association. Our certified IRATA Instructors provide training and certification for IRATA technicians at Levels 1, 2 and 3 following the syllabus of the Training and Assessment Certification Scheme (TACS)

EICA Cragsters
Is your kid interested in climbing? Join our EICA Cragsters course perfect for age between 8-12 years old.
Cragsters offers the chance to try both top rope climbing and our bouldering walls to give them a great all-round experience of climbing.
