What's on at EICA:Ratho

EICA: Ratho will host the eleventh round of the IFSC Lead and Speed World Cup Series 2022 from 9-11 of September.

The event will be the first elite-level international climbing event to be held at the venue since the Lead and Speed European Championships in 2019 and will bring together the best climbers in the world as the Great Britain Climbing Team fine-tunes its preparations ahead of a series of Olympic qualifying events next year.

With four pulse raising session to choose from, there will be something for everyone.

Is your child is aged between 8-14 years old and interested in learning to climb? Our NICAS Program (National Indoor Climbing Award Schemes) introduces kids to all the essential skills they need to stay safe and enjoy themselves climbing. Following the national development structure for climbing, this is the perfect first step into the scene and covers skills such as teamwork, listening and communication, alongside other practical climbing skills.

Running for 5 consecutive days during the holidays you can book your kids in below.

Group Bookings of up to 6 people are back and available to book online.  

Why not gather a group of friends and give climbing a go?  

This instructor led sessions last 90 minutes and will give you a taste of what this sport is all about!

We will be trialling reopening Café Refresh on Level 3 (the floor you enter EICA on at reception) on Saturdays and Sundays from July 9th 10:00am - 3:00pm offering hot drinks, cakes and light bites with a great view of the climbing arena!

Come along with your friends and family at the weekend to experience everything EICA has to offer.

We are happy to announce our new Additional Support Needs (ASN) Soft Play Session for children every Thursday from Thursday 7th July 3:30pm – 5:00pm. We are wanting to allow a comfortable, relaxed, and safe environment so that children who need additional support can learn and grow their confidence.

EICA: Ratho is a fully accessible venue for all, with ramp access, an internal lift, and disabled toilets, changing and showers.

There are no restrictions to members or pay are you go customers. If you are already a soft play member with us then you can come along at no extra cost, or if you are a non-member then you can buy a pass at reception.

We are delighted to announce that from the 1st August you will now be able to make individual bookings for up to four people on Start Ups at EICA!

Our adult start up sessions introduce you to the skills needed to climb safely on our top rope walls and belaying. We also cover safe use of auto belays and bouldering. No previous experience is needed for this 2 hour course where we’ll show you the ropes. You can book your spot in our sessions below.

Level up your climbing. Track all your climbs. Enter competitions. Compare against yourself, your friends or even the pros. Benchmark, train & improve using smart hangboards, custom workouts and training routines. 

Routesetters set routes and boulders and tag each route/boulder with appropriate coloured Smart tags. 

Smart Tags are programmed to contain details of the route/boulder, Beta/Style/Line details/Setter details and the date the route is set climbers scan the tags before climbing to see route details or after climbing to log it as done. 

Points are awarded for the leaderboard score. Be part of the climbing community!

EICA is delighted to host the Paraclimbing Club that runs every Thursday from 7 – 9pm. The clubs aim to facilitate and help people with disabilities to get involved in climbing.
