RLSS UK Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day)
The Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day) course provides essential CPR and first aid training, equipping participants with the skills and confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations. The course covers the following key topics:
- Roles and responsibilities of First Aiders
- Reporting of accidents
- Contents of first aid kit
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Bleeding, choking and shock
- Treatment of minor injuries.
This course is taught over 1 days and costs £65.
RLSS UK Emergency First Aid at Work (2 Day Refresher)
First Aid at Work 2 Day Refresher acts as a refresher to the full 3-day course and covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills. This course must be taken prior to qualification expiry date. This course will cover the following first aid topics:
- Roles and responsibilities of First Aiders
- Reporting of accidents
- Contents of first aid kit
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Bleeding, choking and shock
- Treatment of minor injuries.
This course is taught over 2 days and costs £105.
RLSS UK Emergency First Aid at Work (3 Days)
First Aid at Work covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills and includes the Emergency First Aid at Work syllabus. This course also teaches the candidate how to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illnesses. It will cover the following first aid topics:
- Roles and responsibilities of First Aiders
- Reporting of accidents
- Contents of first aid kit
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Bleeding, choking and shock
- Treatment of minor injuries.
This course is taught over 3 days and costs £160.
RLSS UK Emergency Paediatric First Aid (1 Day)
Emergency Paediatric First Aid covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills related to children. The candidate will learn how to apply emergency first aid to a range of specific injuries and illnesses. The following topics will be included during the course:
- Understanding the role of the paediatric first aider
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for an infant and child (CPR)
- Assessing an emergency situation and acting safely and effectively
- Bleeding, choking and shock
- First aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally.
This qualification is valid for three years from the date of assessment.
This course is taught over 1 days and costs £65.
RLSS UK Emergency Paediatric First Aid (2 Day)
This comprehensive course covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills related to children and infants. This course also teaches the candidate how to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illnesses and includes the Paediatric Emergency First Aid syllabus. This course will cover the following topics:
- Roles and responsibilities of paediatric first aiders
- Reporting of accidents
- Contents of first aid kit
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for an infant and child
- Bleeding, choking and shock
- Treatment of minor injuries
- Recognition and treatment of sickle cell anaemia, diabetes and meningitis
This qualification is valid for three years from the date of assessment.
This course is taught over 2 days and costs £105.
Course Conduct, Cancellations, and Refunds.
At Edinburgh Leisure, we aim to provide a positive learning environment for all course participants. Please read the following statements regarding expected standards of behaviour, cancellations, and refunds.
Course Standards of Behaviour
- All candidates are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful and non-disruptive to fellow participants, course tutors, and Edinburgh Leisure staff.
- Any behaviour deemed disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate may result in removal from the course.
- Candidates must meet all course prerequisites on the first day. Failure to do so may result in removal from the course, and no refunds will be given.
Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellations made 14 days or more before the course start date are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made within 13 days of the course start date – No refund will be given.
- If Edinburgh Leisure cancels a course – A full refund will be issued. However, Edinburgh Leisure reserves the right to cancel courses based on participant numbers and cannot be held responsible for any loss of earnings, holiday entitlement, or expenses incurred.
- All cancellations must be submitted in writing.

Course Prerequsites
Candidates must be 16 years of age at the time of taking the assessment. Due to Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) legislation, you are required to bring a form of identification with you on the first day of the course.
All candidates must have a free RLSS UK Society Number and an account with RLSS UK before attending the course.

If you have previously attended an RLSS UK course, your existing society number can be found on your certificate (an 8-digit number starting with ‘3’).
